Question by davya85: Matching or Mis-Matched?
Is your child’s nursery straight out of a magazine, or is it mismatched and just as cute? I never did buy into the whole matching furniture with matching this and that. All my daughter’s stuff is mismatched, yet her room is very cute. She has Hello Kitty fairy decals on the walls (although I will admit she has quite a bit Hello Kitty stuff like a lamp, figurines, photo frame, etc.), a green and white checkered crib ruffle, all kinds of stuffed animals, etc. It’s much cheaper to do with what you have and can find rather than matching every little detail, but that can look cute as well! So what is your kid’s room… matched or mis-matched?

i did try to match but ended up different stuff. Got some presents , then bought something myself that i really liked. it the toys of course, you wont buy the same toys. baby will get crazy, so it s unmatched now completely. but i did try:)

Question by Lily: Little kid here and mother yelling at me?
My mom’s friend’s daughter is here and at first i kind of liked their visit since they weren’t really bothering me, but then i had to go upstairs and do my homework, and the little kid was following me.

I didn’t really know she was there because she came later, so i went to the washroom and left my documents on the computer. When i came back, my essay was erased….. At first i was just like ‘fine… no big deal….” since i still had most of my info in other stuff…

Then, the mom came too, but then wasn’t paying attention to the kid since she was pulling at our furniture. Well, one of our cuboards had a loose panel which would fall if you tugged at it. (Not like the entire cuboard, but the board which you use to open). So, the board fell but the kid didn’t get hurt since she was a little short and there was a tall table right next to the cuboard. Now the mother of the kid is yelling at me since i wasn’t paying attention to HER kid. I was focusing on my work which she erased….. so of course i was a little irritated at her. The kid’s in grade 1 so she doesn’t really know any better… i guess..

But seriously, wtf….Why is the mom yelling at ME for?? Should i have been paying attention to her? I really think it should have been that mom’s responsibility.

That’s just messed up. I’d be pretty mad if some kid erased my work. Since when was it your responsibility to take care of HER kid? And its the mom’s fault for letting her kid wander off into your room anyway! That’s just my opinion.

Hi! I’m on my older sister’s Yahoo account because I’m too young to make my own. Anyways, I’m ten years old and every three to five years I get the design of my bedroom changes. I want it to kind of seem like I’m smart, because thats what I’m known for: My straight A’s. A+’s in every class~ I don’t brag about it, but I don’t deny that I’m smart. My favorite color is orange and I love polka dots. My bed sheets don’t match orange walls, though. I have a multi-colored bedspread: It’s white, brown, blue, green and has all different designs. I also have a blue carpet and blue sparkly curtains. I can’t change my furniture, though. Not aloud. I have white furniture and a pink lamp. I have pink walls right now. I just really want a nice room… I have a very small room and all my stuff is cramped into it. So, I basically want a room that’s nice and sofisticated but shows I have spice and still has a kid’s heart (I’m gonna have this room ’til I’m fifteen >.>). I like blasts of bright colors. Orange, yellow, lime green. Did I give you enough information? :B

Paint the walls lavender, get new furniture, maybe you put easy to remove stickers on the walls like dots or pictures in frames. Maybe you can make youre bed hang from the ceiling, that would be awesome

Question by Jace: Make orange bedroom more “grown up”?
I just turned 18, and I used to have a bunkbed, but we got rid of all the furniture (just a bunkbed and a dresser really) and now it’s time to get new stuff. We were thinking a futon. The walls are a light, creamy orange/yellow color. I can’t paint, but I don’t know what colors would match the wall without looking like a little kid’s room. Help?

My Mom is starting a business painting wall murals and furniture for kids’ rooms. If they want for example a Lightning McQueen room would it be illegal to charge them and customize their room with those Disney images? We’re assuming it would, but wanted to be sure.

I’m redoing my bedroom.
I’m allowed to change the carpet color & paint the walls. I need to get a new bed, all new furniture, a vanity, new bedding, and some accessories, and stuff for the walls. Oh and window coverings.
I’m 16 and I want my room to look mature. I don’t want it to look like a little kid’s room. But I don’t want anything blah. I’m not into like cream colored bedding and stuff like that. I want sophisticated but pretty.

I already have two big posters of the Eiffel Tower.

Question by Daisuke: Kid problem!!!!! It’s a bit long… Anyone with good advice?
The landlady’s kid (she’s 9 i think) and her dog keeps on coming into my studio apartment to play. They start by running all over the place, bothering my Guinea Pig, mess up my furniture and bed. I already ask her nicely several times that i need to do something and she needs to go but she INSIST they will stay.

How do i approach this? I don’t want to offend the landlady but i do not want her kid to keep coming in and making a mess! I can’t even change my clothes! (imagine what she will tell people that she saw me… people will think i’m a pervert or worse)

I always leave my door wide open when she’s here so that anyone can see inside. But she’s driving me NUTS!

BTW, we are NOT close or anything. I don’t even know this kid’s name! She just starting coming in after the Christmas Party even though I’ve been staying here for half a year now.
I leave the door open ONLY when she’s already inside. She meets me at the door on my way back from work. *_*
She pushes her way in and i don’t want to lay a finger on her.

Im 15 years old (16 in january)! and right now my room is painted purple, blue, and lime green. which was cool…..untill i turned like 11. the only problem is i dont know what colors to do. the thing is, i have white dressers and what not, and white carpet. my favorite colors are blue and pink. but i really dont want a little kid kind of room. and i dont want it to be too bright of a room because that just kinda screams ‘little kid’ to me, but not too dark either. idk and i really kinda want it to go with my ugly white furniture. any ideas??

If you really like blue, try a nice, light shade of turquoise for the walls. It looks great with white furniture, and you can pair it with a sophisticated color like chocolate brown, lime green or purple for a more grown-up look.
