Question by Veronique: What am I entitled to take with me when I leave abusive husband?
I am going to leave my abusive husband of 8 years( together for 12) by this weekend. I know that it’s now or never. I want to take some things with me like my kid’s bed and dressers, our clothes, washing machine and big screen tv. I was going to leave the livingroom furniture, deep freezer and all of his collectibles( sports figurines, cars etc). We live in Michigan. I’m just wondering should I just take what I can and get the hell out of dodge or what? I’m also considering a personal protection order. I am really nervous as I don’t have a job right now. My kids and I are going over to my mom’s to live while I get on my feet. My mom is great and says she’ll provide for us while I get on my feet.I am not a deadbeat, I worked and paid bills ( even though he ‘s told everyone that I didn’t do shit but lay on my ass which is a total lie). I was laid off. I’m wondering what I may be entiltled to take with me? Our house is in foreclosure so that’s not an option to stay anyway & I fear him.

Most of all, you’re taking something no one can take away from you — your dignity!
Question by Dadof4Kiddies: Should I get rid of my dead grandma’s dresser?
My grandma died about 15 years ago and my father kept the dresser to use in his house after my parent’s divorce. About 7 years ago my father died, and I inheirited the belongings in his house, I tried to give away the dresser, but my mom freaked out on me. She thinks since it is the only thing I have of my grandma’s, that I need to keep it.
My problem is that I don’t want it, its ugly, it smells and my wife and I are starting a family and it is not a kid’s furniture.Right now it is taking up the entire closet in the room we are converting to a nursery. And I want to tell my mom she can take it and have it take up her closet or she needs to shut up about it.
Should I get rid of it? I don’t care about an old dresser that isn’t worth anything. I don’t need it to remind me of my grandma, what should I do?
Its not an antique, its only 15-20 years old. Also, I have been storing it for 7 years now and I really need the room for kids. My mother doesn’t want it, she just wants me to hold on to it because I “should have sentimental feelings for it” because it belonged to my grandma. WTF???

Question by Taylor: Does anyone know the name of this movie?
It was a kid’s movie made sometime in the mid 90′s. Where these kids go to their aunt’s house and her house has musical pieces of furniture and other things. And the aunt has all these music boxes but the people inside are real and preform for them all. Later that night someone steals the little music box people’s instruments and other items they need to preform. After investigating they figure out it is the guy from the one man show “music box”. As you might have guessed it is a musical. Thanks for the help. =)

Question by patience3987: Am I crazy for smoking outside???
No lectures about the dangers of smoking please. I know the risks. Now, to details…
We moved into our new house in July, & I vowed when we left our old house that I wouldn’t smoke in the new one. I got tired of washing walls & furniture, my kids’ clothes always stunk, and everything turned yellow.
It’s winter, now, and I stand outside in 15 degree weather to have a smoke. I know it’s better for my kids, and I smoke a LOT less than I used to, but am I INSANE for doing this, or do other smokers do this too? I know my sister in law does, but does anyone else???

Answer by spydrplus insane? no, smart. Especially with kids around. I don’t condone smoking, but I applaud you for being responsible with it
